Among the illustrious honorees was the iconic R&B group TLC, who marked a significant milestone—30 years since their seismic entry into music. The group was not only celebrated for their artistic genius but also recognized academically; they were awarded an honorary doctorate in Musicology by Trinity International University of Ambassadors (TIUA). This honor highlighted their profound influence on the music industry and their role in shaping cultural narratives through their work.

The event was graced with the presence of notable figures including Representative Billy Mitchell and other dignitaries, who were there to bestow upon TLC the Georgia Outstanding Citizen Award. This was accompanied by resolutions and other accolades that acknowledged their substantial contributions not only to music but to community enrichment as well.

This year’s brunch was powered by an array of prestigious sponsors including Black Music Moguls, Milk & Cookies Music Week, Pandora, Grey Goose, Patron, Atlanta City Council, and Saints & Citizen. The gathering was a testament to the enduring legacy and ongoing impact of black music legends, with TLC at the forefront of this year’s celebrations.

Other distinguished honorees included TIP “T.I.” Harris, Amina Diop, Leron Rogers, and John Rose, each celebrated for their unique contributions to the music and entertainment industries.
